mr. T.H.L. (Tom) Kneepkens

Tom Kneepkens is one of the founding partners of the firm. He graduated with distinction in Dutch Law, specializing in Criminal Law, and completed the Master’s programme in Forensics, Criminology and Law at Maastricht University. During his studies, Tom worked as a court clerk in the criminal law division and at the office of the investigating judge of the District Court of Maastricht. He completed the postgraduate Specialisation Course in Criminal Law at the VU Law Academy and the specialised track in Military Law at the University of Amsterdam. He has also served as a judge in moot court competitions for the bachelor’s and master’s programmes of the University of Amsterdam, Leiden University, and the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Tom practices general criminal law and handles cases in the field of financial and economic criminal law. His clients include private individuals, military personnel, and companies and their directors in financial-economic (cross-border) criminal cases. He also regularly represents clients in extradition and surrender proceedings and specializes in traffic criminal law.

He is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Defence Lawyers (NVSA), the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA), and the European Fraud and Compliance Lawyers Association (EFCL).

He speaks Dutch, German, English, French, and Luxembourgish.

In the register of legal practice areas of the Netherlands Bar Association, mr. Kneepkens has registered the field of Criminal Law. This registration obliges him to obtain ten continuing education credits in this field each calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
