Mr. S.J. (Bas) Jansen
Mr. S.J. (Bas) Jansen leads a versatile litigation practice with an emphasis on criminal law. He represents companies, professionals and private individuals who are confronted or threatened with criminal law or other government sanctions. He is also specialized in youth (criminal) law, traffic (criminal) law as well as extradition and surrender procedures. In addition, he represents many international clients that have come into contact with criminal law in the Netherlands as well as Dutch nationals abroad.
Mr. Jansen previously studied law at the University of Amsterdam and the University of Maastricht. His thesis has been published in an edited form in the Dutch journal Strafblad (see publications). Ensuing an internship at a renowned criminal law firm, it was clear to him where his future lay. After a long employment with Van Oosten Advocaten (later VOSDK) it was time for the next step and now Bas is one of the founders of Jansen, Kneepkens Rijnsburger Advocaten. Mr. Jansen recently followed the specialization course in criminal law at the Pompe Institute of Utrecht University. He is a member of the Dutch Association of Criminal Lawyers (NVSA), the European Criminal Bar Association (ECBA) and the European Fraud and Compliance Lawyers Association (EFCL).
